* A couple of notes and lessons learned in travelling in Iceland
Transportation – We are tracking inter-country transportation separately. In the case of Iceland, we flew from Stockholm, Sweden to Boston, US with a 7 day layover in Iceland for $439.64 on Iceland Air. Within Iceland the transport costs were exclusively to/from airport. All other travel costs were included in the various tours.
Entertainment – This included our snorkel trip over the tectonic plates and our Golden Circle tour, as well as the 2-day Southern Coast/ice cave tour that we sadly were unable to go on when I (Aaron) got sick. Hopefully we’ll try that trip again someday!
Gear – Rented heavy parkas and boots for three days which was completely worth it for not having to carry those in our luggage!
A quick other note: Iceland, like Sweden, was almost exclusively credit card driven. We literally never saw a krona in cash and paid for everything via credit card. Very convenient!
